Stainless steel water circuit
„Ascaso“ uses stainless steel for most parts in contact with water, from the heating elements to the filters. The steel is hygienic and resists limescale, so your coffee tastes good and the machine stays reliable.

Coffee in one minute
The electronically controlled „Ascaso“ thermoblock heats only when needed, which saves energy. You can brew coffee a minute after switching on, with a constant supply of steam.
„Ascaso“ thermoblock 230 V, 1 000 W (I.2237)
This is an original „Ascaso“ I.2237 thermoblock — an instantaneous heater that heats water as it flows through. Two stainless steel tubes run inside the cast aluminium body: one holds the heating element, the other carries the water. It is rated at 1 000 W and 230 V. The heating element is built into the thermoblock, so the whole unit is replaced.
Gaskets are sold separately. The thermoblock has two water connections, so order two new „Ascaso“ I.3096 gaskets (product code 10042420) with it: new PTFE gaskets seal the connections tight from the start.

In the Steel Duo and Steel Trio, the I.2237 is also used in the steam system. Check the fit against code I.2237 in your machine’s parts diagram; the Dream PID parts diagram is in the ‘Technical Data Sheet’ tab. Machines for 110 V use the I.2238 thermoblock.
Replacement
Have the thermoblock replaced by an espresso machine technician: the job involves disconnecting the electrical wiring and the pressurised water connections. Filtered or softened water and regular descaling, for example with „Urnex“ Dezcal™, keep the narrow 3.5 mm water tube clear.
