Designed for restaurants, cafés and steakhouses, this grill cooks meat, fish and vegetables on a grid over hot lava rock.
A single 13 kW gas burner heats the lava rock beneath the 550 × 535 mm cooking grid, about 50 % larger than on the I-47 and I-47 MOB. The grill is 650 mm wide. It also comes in a countertop version, the I-65.
The hot lava rock radiates heat up to the cooking grid, spreading it evenly across the whole surface. The grill is ready to use within a few minutes.
The rock stores heat and releases it steadily, which saves gas. Unlike charcoal, lava rock does not burn away or leave ash.
„CB“ began with the lava rock grill: the company’s founder, Pietro Colombo, designed one while looking for the best grill for his own restaurant.
The universal cooking grid supplied with the grill works for meat, fish and vegetables. Dedicated meat and fish grids can be ordered separately.
Fat collects in a pull-out drawer, and the double-sided grill brush and scraper supplied make the grid easy to clean.
A knob on the front panel adjusts the flame, and levers on both sides raise and lower the cooking grid — the closer it is to the rock, the fiercer the heat. The grill is lit with a piezo ignition button. The burner’s gas tap has a safety thermocouple that cuts off the gas if the flame goes out.
The grill sits on an open cabinet with height-adjustable feet. The overall height is 850 mm, or 950 mm including the flue. A pair of front doors (14080324) and a rear panel (01160328) for the cabinet are available separately.
The grill runs on natural gas (G20, G25) or LPG (G30). When you order, please tell us which gas you will be using. The grill must be connected to the gas supply by a qualified gas engineer.
The grill comes with a universal cooking grid, lava rock, a double-sided grill brush, a spatula and a scraper for the universal grid. Meat (14080022) and fish (14080025) grids and 9 kg bags of replacement lava rock (05050501) are available separately, as are the cabinet doors and rear panel mentioned above. The main photo shows the grill fitted with the optional fish grid.
