The „Ascaso“ Bar Mini is a compact professional two-group espresso machine: each coffee group has its own thermoblock and a third one makes the steam, so you can brew two espressos and froth milk at the same time.

The Bar Mini is plug and play: it draws water from two 2 L tanks, so all you need is a power socket. Thermoblocks instead of a boiler keep it simpler to look after and cheaper to run.

Who it is for

The Bar Mini is made for businesses where coffee adds to the customer experience — from a small shop or office to a hotel or guesthouse. Two groups and a separate steam thermoblock keep service quick and continuous, and the compact machine fits even where space is tight.

Precise temperature for every cup

Every shot is as good as the last: the PID controller keeps the water at the temperature you set, and the displays show when the machine is hot and ready to brew.

Set the brew temperature to suit your coffee with the buttons beside the displays — from 80 to 110 °C in 1 °C steps.

You can start brewing about a minute and a half after switching the machine on, and the insulation helps the thermoblocks hold their heat.

Doses, shot timer and statistics

Every cup gets the same amount of espresso: programme a single and a double dose for each group once, then flick the group’s coffee switch up or down and the shot stops by itself.

Turn on the timer and the display counts the seconds as each shot runs.

See how much coffee you made in a shift or a month: the counters track single and double shots separately, in total and since the last reset.

Espresso the way you like it

You know exactly what to aim for: when the coffee and grind are right, each group’s gauge reads 9–12 bar during the shot.

Pre-infusion briefly wets the coffee before the full shot; set it in the menu from 0 to 5 s.

Match the maximum pressure to your coffee with the over-pressure valve (OPV), which you adjust from the outside.

Milk foam for cappuccino and latte

Milk is ready as soon as the espresso is: you froth it while both groups are brewing.

Set the steam temperature in the menu from 110 to 165 °C in 1 °C steps.

The 10 mm stainless steel steam wand stays cool to the touch, so you can hold it safely.

Hot water for tea or for warming cups comes from a separate outlet.

Easy every day

A window in each tank shows at a glance how much water is left.

Espresso is at its best in a warm cup, and the active cup warmer on top of the machine has yours ready.

The water tanks, baskets and drip tray can go in the top rack of the dishwasher.

The programmable stand-by saves energy: in the menu, choose whether an idle machine goes to stand-by after half an hour, one hour or two hours.

When you are making espresso only, switch the steam thermoblock off in the menu.

Comparison

Both machines belong to the „Ascaso“ professional range and have PID control and programmable doses. With two groups, the Bar Mini makes more coffee at once; the Baby T PLUS is a single-group machine with a steam boiler.

If ±0.5 °C temperature stability, a rotary pump and a mains water connection matter most to you, choose the „Ascaso“ Baby T PLUS. If you would rather brew from E.S.E. pods, choose the „Ascaso“ Bar Mini E.S.E., the same machine with pod holders.

Installation

• Power supply: 230 V, 50 Hz, 3,000 W; it plugs into a standard power socket.
• Water: fill the tanks with fresh water; with low-mineral water the coffee tastes better and the machine keeps running smoothly for longer.
• Location: a flat, stable surface with room at the side to slide the tanks out; dimensions 480 × 315 × 360 mm (W × D × H), weight 21 kg.

Maintenance

Descale the machine with the „Ascaso“ Coffee Washer machine cleaner: once a month if you make more than 10 coffees a day, every two months for 5–10 and every three months for up to 5. The same cleaner also cleans the brew groups.

Once a week, backflush the brew groups with the supplied blind filter, and take out and wash the shower screens every 80–100 coffees.

Clean the steam thermoblock with the same cleaner by switching on the cleaning mode in the menu.

What’s in the box

The machine comes with two stainless steel portafilters (single-spout and double-spout), stainless steel baskets for one and two cups, a blind filter, a 58 mm aluminium tamper and a measuring spoon.
