Three-group espresso machine with a touchscreen, thermoblocks and an 8.5 L steam boiler

With the „Ascaso“ Big Dream T ONE you brew every espresso to your own recipe: you set the temperature, doses and pre-infusion of each group on a 4.2″ touchscreen.

The retro body of „Baydur®“ polymer and stainless steel dresses up a café counter, and thanks to its thermoblocks the machine uses less energy than traditional espresso machines. When ordering, you choose standard groups (cups up to 9 cm) or raised groups (cups up to 12 cm). The photos show the Big Dream T PLUS: the ONE has the same body and dimensions, with standard adjustable feet instead of the large chrome-plated feet of the PLUS.

Insulated thermoblocks

The groups hold their heat: the thermoblocks are insulated, and water reaches them already pre-heated in a circuit through the steam boiler.

PID control ±0.5 °C

You get the taste you want in every cup: with PID and dynamic pre-heating the brew temperature stays within ±0.5 °C of the setting.

Touchscreen

You change every setting in one place: from group temperatures to the cleaning programme, it is all on the high-definition 4.2″ screen.

Two displays per group

A good shot is easy to repeat: each group’s two displays show its temperature and the shot time.

Volumetric control

Every shot is the same size, whoever makes it: the machine measures each dose by volume, and you set the pre-infusion for each group.

The pressure can be matched to your coffee: a technician sets it on the rotary pump regulator (factory setting 9 bar).

You froth milk while the groups are brewing: a separate stainless steel boiler supplies steam and hot water.

The machine is built to last: the Ø 58 mm portafilters, filter baskets and shower screens are stainless steel, and the water circuit is stainless steel and 99% pure copper.

Who it suits

The Big Dream T ONE suits a specialty coffee shop where the barista works to a recipe for every coffee: it has the same PID control, touchscreen and retro body as the Big Dream T PLUS at a more attractive price. With three groups you brew several espressos at once and can give each group its own temperature.

The right temperature for every group

You set the brew temperature of each group on the touchscreen, from 80 to 110 °C in 0.1 °C steps.

You set the steam boiler temperature separately, so it does not depend on the coffee group settings.

In quieter hours you switch off one group, and the other two keep working.

The same dose every time

You programme four doses — single and double espresso, single and double lungo — once; after that you just press a button, and the machine stops the coffee automatically.

You fill cups of other sizes with the XL button: the coffee flows until you press it again.

You only need to programme the doses on the left group — they are copied to the other two groups.

You can also set each dose in millilitres and its pre-infusion on the touchscreen.

Espresso to your recipe

The right-hand group display shows the extraction time, so you see at a glance whether the grind is right: a correctly ground and tamped shot runs for 20–25 seconds.

You brew a single espresso with the 7 g basket and a double with the 14 g.

Between orders the Ø 58 mm portafilters stay locked in the groups, so they are always warm.

Milk foam and hot water

You turn the steam on with walnut-handled joysticks, and the Ø 12 mm steam wands stay cool on the outside, so they are safe to touch.

With two steam wands, two baristas can froth milk at once.

A dual pressure gauge shows the pump and steam boiler pressure.

You draw hot water for tea from a separate anti-splash outlet and programme two water doses by time.

Easy every day

At the end of the day you clean the groups with the automatic programme, which rinses each group 10 times for 10 seconds.

The machine is warm when you arrive: you use the calendar to set when it switches on and off, and in quiet periods ECO mode lowers the temperature of the groups and steam boiler after a set idle time.

The screen shows how many cups each group has made, and reminders tell you when maintenance is due and when to change the water filter.

With the work area lit, you can see the coffee flow.

Comparison

Both Big Dream T models have a thermoblock for each group, insulated groups, an 8.5 L steam boiler, PID control to ±0.5 °C, a 4.2″ touchscreen and walnut-handled steam joysticks, and share the same dimensions and power; they differ in boiler and tube insulation, group heating elements and accessories.

If you want an insulated steam boiler and tubes, extra heating elements in the groups, an active cup warmer and competition accessories, choose the „Ascaso“ Big Dream T PLUS.

Connection and installation

• Electricity: 380 V (3-phase) or single-phase 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 6,500 W; a single-phase connection requires a 30 A circuit. The machine is hard-wired, without a plug.
• Power limiting: if your circuit is rated lower, a technician limits how many heating elements run at once, so the machine draws less current.
• Water mains: connected with a 3/8″ hose; 1–4 bar supply pressure (above that, a pressure reducer) and an 8 L/min flow are required, with a shut-off valve between the mains and the machine.
• Water quality: softened drinking water; for harder water, a water softening filter.
• Drain: the Ø 16 mm drain hose runs to a drain outlet.
• Location: a level, dry and stable surface indoors at 5–32 °C and no more than 70% humidity; dimensions 1,189 × 593 × 554 mm (W × D × H), base width 1,121 mm, weight 93 kg. The machine is connected by a qualified technician.

Operation

You wipe the steam wands with a damp cloth right after use, and in the evening clean them with a steam wand cleaner.

Once a week you brush the group shower screens and gaskets and back-flush the groups with the blind filter and „Ascaso“ Coffee Washer — so the coffee keeps a clean taste.

You descale the steam boiler with a special descaler — more often if your water is harder or the machine is used a lot.
