Water filter cartridge „Everpure“ 4CB5 (EV9617-11)
Add to CartCarbon block filtration for coffee and vending machines
„Everpure“ 4CB5 — 22,710 L capacity and filtration down to 5 µm
A „Pentair“ carbon block replacement cartridge for coffee machines, vending machines and foodservice equipment, with a service flow rate of up to 6.3 L/min.
The „Everpure“ 4CB5 (part number EV9617-11) is a carbon block filter that reduces chlorine taste and odour, as well as other contaminants that can spoil the taste of water and drinks. It also traps fine dirt and particles down to 5 µm; „Pentair“ lists longer equipment life among the cartridge’s benefits.
Chlorine taste and odour reduction is certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI 42. The 5 µm rating is based on „Pentair“ testing; NSF has not tested or certified the cartridge for particle reduction. The cartridge does not remove fluoride.
Hard water and scale
The 4CB5 does not soften water or inhibit scale build-up. For hard water, choose the 4CB5-S, which combines a carbon block with a scale inhibitor, or fit a water softener upstream of the equipment.
Compatible filter heads
The cartridge fits „Everpure“ QL2 and QL3 heads (sold separately). These heads are designed to take „Everpure“ cartridges only. The head stays plumbed in and only the cartridge is replaced — quickly and hygienically, as the internal filter parts are never exposed to handling or contamination. Both the QL2 and QL3 heads have a built-in water shut-off valve.
Installation
- Install the cartridge vertically so that it hangs down, and leave at least 6.4 cm (2½″) of clearance below it for easy replacement.
- Connect the filter to the cold water supply only: water temperature 2–38 °C, pressure 0.7–8.6 bar, non-shock.
- Use a 3/8″ supply line, and never use a saddle valve to connect the filter.
- Do not exceed the maximum service flow rate of 6.3 L/min.
- After fitting a new cartridge, flush it at full flow for 5 minutes, running the water to drain.
Changing the cartridge
„Pentair“ recommends changing the cartridge every 6 months as part of scheduled maintenance, and in any case at least once a year. Change it sooner if the rated capacity of 22,710 L is reached or if the outlet pressure drops below 0.7 bar. Flush every new cartridge for 5 minutes.
Important: the cartridge does not disinfect water. Do not use it with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the filter. The substances the filter removes or reduces are not necessarily present in your water.
