Integrated Drain Pump

Brema Drain Pump is Brema's DP solution for ice makers that cannot be conveniently connected to a floor drain below the machine. The integrated pump moves drain water to a more practical discharge point and gives more freedom when planning a bar, kitchen or buffet area.

Brema presents it as its proprietary DP System technology and design: the pump is installed inside the machine, the standard water and drain connection points remain unchanged, and the ice maker's footprint does not increase.

Brema integrated drain pump inside an ice maker

Main advantages

①

INSTALLATION LOCATION FREEDOM

The machine can be repositioned within the same bar or kitchen even after commissioning when workflow requirements change. The integrated pump drains water within the technical limits without tying the machine to a lower floor drain.

②

HYGIENIC DRAINAGE

Less stagnant water in the drain pipe and lower risk of ice contamination in the storage bin.

③

REDUCED INSTALLATION TIME

The DP solution can be connected to floor, wall, pipe or siphon drains, making connection work easier for the installation technician.

④

PLUG & PLAY CONNECTION

When the drain point position or height complicates installation, Brema DP System works as a simple and effective Plug & Play solution.

⑤

POWER BLACKOUTS

The DP system collects meltwater and automatically disposes of it when power is restored, regardless of the machine ON/OFF switch position.

⑥

FEWER SCALE ISSUES

Instead of a float switch, Brema uses an air-pressure sensor separated from the hydraulic system, reducing mineral buildup and sensor-jamming risks.

What makes Brema DP System different?

In its official description, Brema presents the DP System as a reliable pressurized drainage solution for ice makers. Water level is controlled without a float switch, and the sensor is not directly exposed to mineral buildup in the drain water. This matters in professional kitchens and bars where equipment runs every day and unplanned downtime disrupts work.

Lift heightUp to 1.5 m
Active pumping distanceUp to 4 m
Distance with inclined pipeUp to 15 m
Drain typesFloor, wall, pipe or siphon drain
ConstructionIntegrated into the ice maker cabinet; no additional footprint
Connection pointsStandard water and drain connection points remain unchanged
ControlAutonomous electrical circuit and level / air-pressure sensor
Scale resistanceNo float switch; sensor separated from the hydraulic system
Power failureThe pump collects meltwater and automatically disposes of it when power is restored

When should you choose the DP version?

The DP version is worth choosing when the ice maker must stand under a counter, on an island, against a wall or in another position where traditional gravity drainage restricts installation. Brema also notes that such a machine is easier to reposition within the same bar or kitchen even after commissioning if the workflow layout changes.

Self-contained granular ice maker „Brema Ice“ GB 601 HC

BREMA GROUP — MADE IN ITALY

Ice flakes —
up to 73 kg per day

Self-contained granular ice maker for restaurants, bars, hotels, fish displays, supermarkets, medical and SPA areas, and industrial cooling. AISI 304 stainless steel body, natural R290 refrigerant and tropical class operation up to +43 °C.

①

AISI 304 STAINLESS STEEL

The body and evaporator are made from AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch Brite finish. Corrosion-resistant, easy to clean and suitable for professional food safety and hygiene requirements.

②

UP TO 73 KG PER DAY

At standard conditions (21 °C air / 15 °C water) the machine produces 67 kg in 24 hours. At optimal conditions (10 °C / 7 °C) production reaches up to 73 kg. The integrated ice bin stores up to 9 kg.

③

TROPICAL CLASS +43 °C

Operating ambient temperature range from +10 °C to +43 °C. Designed for demanding professional environments and warm indoor conditions.

④

AIR OR WATER CONDENSATION

Available with either air or water condensation. Water consumption is 1 l/kg for air-cooled models and 5 l/kg for water-cooled models, giving flexibility for different installation conditions.

⑤

R290 — HFC AND HCFC FREE

Natural propane refrigerant R290, free from HFC and HCFC gases. A modern low-impact refrigerant choice aligned with current environmental requirements.

⑥

COMPACT SELF-CONTAINED FORMAT

Compact dimensions: 450 × 620 × 680 mm. The self-contained design includes an integrated bin and is easy to place in professional service areas where space matters.

Designed for food service, retail, medical use and industry

Professional granular ice for applications where hygiene, reliability and gentle cooling matter most.

Brema GB 601 HC produces 80–82% dry granular ice, ideal for fish and seafood displays, medical and SPA procedures, food preparation, supermarket counters and industrial cooling processes. Ice flakes adapt easily to the shape of the product, cool evenly and help keep displayed products fresh without damaging their surface.

The machine is equipped with a removable and easy-to-clean air filter, a dust-proof water basin and rounded internal surfaces that are simple to maintain. Automatic water filling and electromechanical control with an ON/OFF switch ensure straightforward, reliable daily operation.

Easy maintenance — hygienic ice

Regular maintenance helps ensure long service life and reliable operation. The air filter on air-cooled models is removable and can be cleaned with compressed air; this should be done at least once a month. The insulated sliding door retracts conveniently and provides easy access to the ice bin.

For cleaning, a 25% solution of water and white vinegar is recommended; for disinfection, use a sodium hypochlorite solution at a concentration of 200 mg/l. All regular maintenance procedures should be carried out at least once a month, following the user manual.

Drain Pump option

The DP version uses Brema's proprietary DP System: the pump is integrated into the cabinet, requires no additional footprint and helps install the machine even when a convenient gravity drain point is not available below it. Drain water can be lifted up to 1.5 m, actively pumped up to 4 m and discharged up to 15 m with an inclined pipe. There is no float switch; a level / air-pressure sensor reduces scale-related jamming and stagnant-water risks.
