Centrifugal juicer, 100 L/h

The „Santos“ #28 is a classic centrifugal juicer, made since 1986, for apple, carrot, ginger, beetroot, cucumber and other fruit and vegetable juices. It produces 100 L/h and has a 1,300 W motor.

What it is for

The juicer makes fresh juice for drinks and sauces, as well as fruit or vegetable coulis. Its powerful motor is built for intensive use.

The duty cycle is 2 minutes on and 4 minutes off — the time it takes to juice and then prepare and serve the drinks.

Powerful motor and fine basket

You get a high juice yield, and the sturdy juicer with its 1,300 W asynchronous motor runs quietly. Fruit and vegetables slide easily into the wide feed chute (Ø 68 mm) in the aluminium lid.

The juice comes out well filtered: the rotating grater shreds the produce, and centrifugal force spins the juice out through the 0.5 mm holes of the large basket. The filtering part of the basket is stainless steel.

The juice runs into a removable bowl of pressed 18/10 stainless steel and out through a spout 222 mm high into a glass, jug or blender jug. Pulp is ejected automatically through the lid outlet and chute into a 7.5 L pulp container.

Secure lid locking

You lock the lid with half a turn of the handle: its two lugs hook onto the locking rods. You start the juicer with the On button once the bowl and lid are locked; loosening the handle cuts the power, and a friction brake stops the basket in under 3 seconds.

An 8 A circuit breaker on the underside protects the motor against overload. The body is stainless steel and aluminium, and materials in contact with food comply with Regulations (EC) No 1935/2004 and (EU) No 10/2011.

Comparison

The #28 is our most powerful centrifugal juicer: a 1,300 W motor and a spout 222 mm high for jugs.

If you need higher output, a wider feed chute and a larger pulp container, choose the „Santos“ #50; if you juice a few glasses at a time, go for the compact „Bartscher“ Top Juicer.

Installation and connections

• Power supply: single-phase 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 1,300 W, 7 A. The plug goes into its own standard earthed socket (2 pole + earth) on a circuit protected by a residual current device (RCD) and a 16 A fuse, and must stay within easy reach while the juicer runs. There is an equipotential bonding terminal on the underside.
• Location: a table or worktop indoors, away from sources of heat, sloping by up to 10°, with all four feet resting on it and the motor shaft at right angles to it. It is most convenient with the spout and buttons facing you, at a working height of about 90 cm.
• Dimensions and weight: 320 × 480 × 570 mm, 23.65 kg — one person can move it.

Running and spare parts

The basket comes out once you undo its screw with the key supplied; all removable parts are washed in water with washing-up liquid or in the dishwasher, and the brush supplied clears the basket holes and grater teeth. The bearings are lubricated for life.

Wear parts are the grater, the basket and electrical components. Spare parts are ordered by the manufacturer's part numbers: basket with 0.5 mm holes — 28200, basket with 0.8 mm holes for fibrous produce such as pineapple or ginger — 28200B, start relay — 28505.
