Fine mince, shift after shift
A Total Unger system with three plates and two knives produces a fine, even mince — the kind you need for frankfurters and other finely minced products.
The TI 32 R Unger has a 2.2 kW (3 hp) motor and minces up to 600 kg of meat an hour. It takes Ø 98 mm (#32) plates, has a Ø 52 mm feed opening and drives the screw at 140 rpm.
The entire body is polished stainless steel. The mincer is available for a three-phase 400 V supply (FTI138RUT) or a single-phase 230 V supply (FTI139RUT) — select yours under “Electrical voltage”.
Who it is for
„Fama Industrie“ builds this mincer for butcher shops, meat processors, supermarkets and food production units that need plenty of fine, uniform mince — for sausages, for example. According to the manual, the mincer is intended for fresh, unfrozen, boneless meat, to make meat sauces, burgers, meatballs and sausages.
At the maximum output the manufacturer quotes (600 kg/h), 50 kg of meat is minced in about 5 minutes (our calculation).
Total Unger mincing system
The system consists of three plates — a pre-cutter, 10 mm and 6 mm — and two double-edged knives. The pre-cutter gives the meat a first, coarse cut, and the 10 mm and 6 mm plates then mince it further, so the mince comes out evenly ground.
The barrel, screw and ring nut are made of AISI 304 stainless steel; all three plates and both self-sharpening knives are stainless steel too. The whole head comes off the body, so it is quick to strip down and wash after work.
Dependable drive, safe controls
Hardened steel gears run in an oil bath inside a sealed gearbox, so the drive runs smoothly and lasts a long time. The fan-cooled asynchronous motor copes with long or intensive use, and thermal protection keeps it from overheating.
The controls run at a safe 24 V. A reverse function comes as standard.
Hopper safety device
The mincer can only be started when the hopper is correctly in place. A steel key under the hopper fits into a slot on top of the body that holds a safety switch: if the hopper is missing or not seated properly, the screw will not turn.
If the mincer does not start when you press the start button, check the hopper first. Never remove the hopper while the mincer is running. The lower-priced TI 32 RS Unger has no such device.
Things to consider
- Mince only fresh, unfrozen meat without bones or other hard parts — pieces such as bones can jam the screw.
- The mincer is not intended for household use.
- An Unger head has more parts than an Enterprise head — three plates and two knives instead of one plate and one knife — and each of them has to be taken out and washed after every shift.
- If the mincer is overloaded or runs for too long, the thermal protection stops it. Let it cool down completely before you restart it.
- The three-phase version (FTI138RUT) needs a 400 V supply. If you do not have one, choose the single-phase 230 V version (FTI139RUT), which weighs 6 kg more (54 kg).

The TI 32 RS Unger has the same Unger system but a smaller 1.6 kW motor, minces up to 500 kg/h and is 8 kg lighter; on that model, reverse is an optional extra. The TI 32 R is the same model with an Enterprise system: one knife and one 6 mm plate, which you can swap for a plate with smaller or larger holes (the manual allows holes of up to 8 mm). The Unger system cuts the meat in several stages, so the mince comes out uniform.
Installation and connections
- Power: FTI138RUT — three-phase 400 V, 50 Hz; FTI139RUT — single-phase 230 V, 50 Hz. „Fama Industrie“ requires the supply line to be protected by a residual current device (RCD) in line with local regulations. If the mincer’s plug does not fit your socket, have an electrician change the socket.
- Direction of rotation: the three-phase mincer should be started for the first time by an electrician, who slightly loosens the ring nut and checks that the screw turns in the direction shown in the manual and, if it does not, swaps two phase wires.
- Location: indoors only, at an ambient temperature of up to 40 °C, on a sturdy food-preparation worktop 900–1,100 mm high. Leave a clear circulation space of at least 800 mm at the workstation. The mincer stands firmly on its own and does not need to be fixed to the worktop.
- Protection rating IPX3; noise level below 70 dB(A).
- Dimensions and weight: 215 × 490 × 430 mm (W × D × H), 48 kg (230 V version — 54 kg); packed — 430 × 620 × 650 mm, up to 57 kg.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Every day: after each shift and before you start work, unplug the mincer, take the head apart, scrape off any meat with a plastic scraper, and wash every part that touches the meat — the head, hopper, feed opening and pusher — with a soft cloth and detergent diluted in hot water; rinse with hot water and dry. The stainless steel head parts can also go in the dishwasher.
- Body: wipe it with a damp cloth only — never hose the mincer down, immerse it in water or hold it under the tap.
- Cleaning products: products containing chlorine or its compounds (bleach, hydrochloric acid) and descalers corrode stainless steel, and steel wool or abrasive powders scratch it — avoid them, and steam cleaners too.
- Knives and plates: keep each knife with the plates it has been working between — as a set, they work better and last longer. Do not run the mincer empty.
- Oil: the gearbox oil never needs topping up or changing — according to „Fama Industrie“, oil is only added after a repair. If you see oil drops under the mincer or on the screw, stop the mincer at once and call a service technician.
- Long periods out of use: wipe the steel surfaces with a cloth moistened with liquid paraffin (white mineral oil) to leave a thin protective film.
What’s included
The mincer comes with a removable head, two double-edged knives, three plates (pre-cutter, 10 mm and 6 mm), a stainless steel tray and hopper, and a food-grade ABS pusher. A sausage-filling kit can be ordered separately.
